Sight Word Swat is a fun, fast-paced literacy game designed to help young readers build confidence with sight word recognition, high-frequency words and early reading fluency.
Players listen to a word or clue, then use the child-sized fly swatters to swat the fly card with the correct sight word. The player with the most flies at the end of the round wins!
The game includes 300 high-frequency words from phases 2–6 of the Letters & Sounds phonics framework. The cards are colour-coded, making them easy to sort, organise and integrate into phonics lessons.
“Tricky” words are clearly highlighted, helping children recognise words that cannot always be sounded out phonetically and need to be memorised.
Suitable for 1 to 4 players, this active game is ideal for classroom literacy centers, phonics practice, intervention groups and home learning.
